Dear Families:  We have had a great start to our year!  We have talked about what the word kindness means and how we can be a kind friend.  We have been concentrating on sharing with our friends and establishing a strong preschool.   We feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful class of children to share our Monday & Wednesday mornings with.  For mid-September, we are delighted with the friendships that our forming, how beautiful they sit at circle time and couldn’t be happier with what a smart group of kiddos they are so early on in the fall!

Just a few notes regarding October :

October 4th – Picture Day – have your child picture-ready!!!!
October 9th --- Pumpkin Patch – Come to school on Monday this week and  attend Pumpkin Patch from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon and go through all the fun stations with your child.
October 18th – Harvest Party  -- We will be hanging a sign-up sheet outside the door next week. We will need parent helpers to work with the children as they do a variety of projects for fall. If you feel creative, you can plan the project, or we would be happy to give you an idea, too. If you sign-up, we would have you stay at the beginning of our day until about 10:30.
October 25th  --- Fall Program – Please plan to attend our Fall Program at 11:10 a.m. put on by your children. They will come at regular time, but you will come back at 11:10 a.m. We will sing some fall songs and share some poems with you, too!

Finally, we are excited to pass along some news about our 2 LVC students that will be joining us this week. We are thrilled to have a student for each morning of our classes, throughout their fall semester. As they get comfortable within the preschool setting, the LVC students will be asked to work one on one with our students, as well as review basic skills in a small group setting. Closer to the end of their term, they may even lead the class with our good morning Cha Cha, weather and Alphabet time. The children tend to get close to our LVC students super fast, so we wanted to share a little about them, prior to meeting them this week!

Hannah Heagerty is a freshman at LVC, majoring in Early Childhood Education/Special Education. She is from Hanover, PA and has 2 sisters; she is also a twin. We are excited to have her in our class on Mondays.

Rachel Havrylkoff is a sophomore at LVC, majoring in Early Childhood Education. She is from Franklin Square, New York.  We are excited to have her in our class on Wednesdays.

Thanks so much,  Mrs. Kerry Lively and Mrs. Pam Long
