Volunteer Opportunities

Did you know that Jack and Jill Preschool and Kindergarten is a non-profit organization? Outside of our faculty and staff, our school operates strictly through the efforts of parent volunteers. We do not receive any tax dollars, nor do we charge tuition that generates profit. From advertising, to financial planning, to fundraising, to problem-solving, Jack and Jill exists only through the combined resources of many parents who volunteer their time, talents and/or treasures.

Looking for a Few Good Men… and Women!

Please consider joining the Jack and Jill Volunteer Team – in whatever capacity you are able to do so. It’s a fun and meaningful way to help make Jack and Jill a fabulous place for children to learn. Please call Jack and Jill at 272-3588 to volunteer for one of these committees:

 

Administrative Help: Answering phones, address labels and mailings, office/teacher aides, run errands

Fundraising: Bulb sale, separating orders for this Fall fundraiser; annual Snowball Dinner and Auction

Long Range Planning and PR Marketing: Three's Art Walk; Science Festival; Parent Surveys

Building and Grounds: Help with simple repairs to the facility; help weed and fertilize flower beds and plant/install new beds, mowing lawn, mulch

 

PR/Marketing: Deliver advertisements to local media outlets; help with the school newsletter; update our website; data input with Excel

 

Finance: Help make decisions on budget, expenditures, salary and investments

 

Board/Executive Committee: Oversee multiple tasks and operational items within Jack and Jill as well as create and discuss new items as needed

 

Education: Work with teachers and the Education Director with curriculum and educational matters.

 

Home and School: Plan annual events like Holiday Parade, Welcome Picnic and Pumpkin Patch; parent classroom helpers; organize individual class' teacher birthdays and holiday gift ideas

Please continue to collect cereal box tops and Campbell® soup lables.  We make several hundred dollars a year for school equipment from these programs.
